IAN SOMERHALDER is ChristIAN Grey

Okay, so there's a lot of hype about the casting of the notorious Fifty Shades of Grey movie set to release on the 1st August, 2014. My personal preference for Christian Grey would have had to be and still will ALWAYS be Ian Somerhalder! So here's the thing, I personally favour the book - not for the sex scene - (which in fact did not intrigue me at all because it was so darn repetitive I had to skim through it, especially that totally unnecessary period scene - BLEH!) but the actual story line (despite the poor reviews given of it) thought it was a twisted love story and i found it sort of intriguing. I admit the writing wasn't up to par but EL did admit to not being a writer. So i gave it a lot of thought and decided to put together my own little dream cast and would like to get feedback.  Anywho, to begin I would just like to give you my reasons for why I believe Ian would be the best man for the role, by just drawing on a few pointers. Don't worry I will draw out both the negatives and positives and keep it as unbiased as possible.

Reasons I prefer Ian for C.G (I'm keeping a non-biased perspective here):

• Okay, firstly C.G. is supposed to be tall and muscular, sadly Ian is only like 5'10 and most people complained that he was not as muscular as Grey is described (I beg to differ though have you seen those arms *drools*) however, Taylor Lautner wasn't the hunk he was in Twilight before it was filmed but he did buff himself up for the second adaption of the Twilight Saga; New Moon, and i think Ian could do the same (no harm). 

• Okay the lack of chest hairs? Who cares that's what Hollywood make-up and special effects are for right?

• Okay what else are some negatives? Um... well maybe TVD filming may overlap 50 Shades filming... I'm not sure.

• Now for the good part: the reasons i think Ian IS perfect for playing christIAN lol.... Well lets start with those eyes! Even though Christian is supposed to have grey eyes and Ian has beautiful blue, i still see no problem here. I mean Christian Grey is supposed to have these dark, almost frosted eyes that pierce through your soul right? Right? Well, Ian who is well-known as sexy vampire Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries) has that exact smoldering gaze! I mean come on he ain't SmolderHalder for nothing lol. His gaze has to be the most important thing about him in this book because its what gives him the domineering look. The gaze that intimidates and makes women fluster. I have yet to see another actor to fit this as dead on as Ian. I mean I have never watched TVD until a month ago and every time "Damon" stared I was like "OMG, his gaze is like! *drools*" lol! So creepy, sexy, sultry, frosted, intimidating gaze that makes women fluster? CHECK!

• Okay, next on my list is the just f***ed hair! He always has the messy hair do and who else do we know targets that dead on? None other than IAN SOMERHALDER!

• Still on Christian Grey's Hair; it's copper, Ian has rocked the copper once before and pulled it off amazingly well. Also, Christian's hair always falls in front of his forehead as does Mr. Somerhalder's. CG constantly runs his hands through his hair as does Mr. Somerhalder, too!

• Carrying on with my list of absolute reasons (lol) is his one sided smile. Ian is always doing that immaculate one sided/lopsided smile. CG is known to have this  smirk that Ian is also well-known for AND a broad boyish smile. Whilst reading the books describing every single one of these smiles I pictured a definite Damon moment each time (hehehe)! And to justify are some pictures and GIFs below :p

• Carrying on once again, CG is also very domineering. I have read many comments where people say that Ian just doesn't have that, well i beg to differ seeing that as Damon he IS in fact very domineering. Especially since he plays a vampire that compels people to do whatever the hell he wants, and he has persuaded and seduced people with his dazzling charm. 

• CG is known to be all sexy CEO one minute and then total bad boy the next. I think Ian has totally hit the nail on the head with his constant borderline looks.

• Once more, CG is very mercurial and Damon Salvatore (Ian) is also the very same way, he could go from happy, in love, joking and warm to dark, angry, domineering and cold in a split second. It's something I would say That Mr. Somerhalder has mastered throughout his performance as Damon. CG can also  be very grim and gets angry at Anastasia Steele when it comes to her safety.  I can NOT imagine another person switching off appropriately for the role better than IAN. 

Mr. Mercurial

• Christian wins an auctioned dance with his beloved Ana Steele and also gets down and dirty with her in the club in Fifty Shades Freed, and we all know of Mr. Somerhalder's abilities. He can be both formal and informal or serious and joking when needs to be, as is needed for the role of Christian, who as I stated before is Mr. Mercurial.

• Christian Grey is also known for his furrowing eyebrows and furling lip. Who do we know does this on a regular? None other than Mr. "Smolderhalder" of course!

And for the love of God, who could resist a man like this? Really as much as Henry Cavill (very sexy) and Matt Bomer may also be good looking men, with grey eyes and much toner bodies, I just don't think they have other key points down. To me Christian's stare is the most important thing about him because it makes him domineering and dark. This is important when it comes to intimidating and making people fluster at just a gaze; it's the mystery to him, the thing that has Ana Steele intrigued. He has every other aspect described by E.L. (unfortunately she herself cannot see that) except the height and super muscle! He's a beautiful man that would pull off this role better than any other actor out there. He could be cold and warm with the flip of a switch. Ian has the best impassive and tortured soul expression when he plays Damon. Personally, I think that Ian has that Christian Grey thing going for him hands down and I really can NOT picture anyone else for the role. They better be careful with who they cast because the wrong cast could totally make this movie flop. Christian's look is the most important thing in this movie because it is essentially what made the story interesting. Whoever they cast as Christian Grey, i really hope he's as good as Ian - if not him. Just personal preference for you.

So with this, I end my rant on why Ian is ChristIAN for ME! And below I shall add my personal dreamcast for Fifty Shades of Grey (movie).

Okay, so to me, the cast is really what's going to make or break this movie. They MUST pick a cast that looks exactly as described in the book because that's mostly where our interests are peaked, especially for the tall, sexy CEO that is Christian Grey *coughs Ian* lol. 

Okay to start things off we all know who is my dreamcast for Christian - Ian of course.

ANASTASIA STEELE

For Anastasia Steele, (now remember people this is my perspective) I kept picturing Lucy Hale and I have NOT a clue why. She has that cute, big, bright eye, innocent thing going for her. Ana wears converse, t-shirts and jeans -I think Lucy Hale could pull off that look (she already does duhh). Her eye colour may not be the right fit, but hey, isn't Hollywood make-up and special effects there for a reason. Now Ana, eventually matures and looks much more grown up in the follow-up parts. I think if Hollywood make-up could make Brad Pitt look from eighty to twenty in one movie it should be no problem to make Lucy look more mature! I really have pictured Ana as short, like Lucy-Hale-5'2 short. Other than Lucy, Alexis Bledel could pull it off too but she's at least thirty (weird, but not really a strong reason) and her eyes aren't big enough, and as much as I love and adore Mila Kunis, the character just doesn't fit in with her. Ana explains that her eyes are just too big for her face, Lucy really fits that description. Lucy and Ian would be absolutely hotttttt together. (^_^)  Also, someone had suggested Emily Rudd in the comments below and i must admit that I'm very much in love with that idea. Emily is so cute with big. blue eyes! She would be perfect! Either Lucy or Emily for me!

Well now for the supporting roles:

KATE KAVANAGH (Ana's best friend)

• Kate Kavanagh - I love Blake Lively, but she seems a little too grown up and strawberry blonde hair doesn't suit her well (my pov). I know Kate is supposed to look mature but Blake is just too much for me. So as I was googling some actresses, I saw a beautiful woman who's well known for her role on One Tree Hill, Evan Rachel Wood. I thought she was perfect, mature but not too much, beautiful and she looked absolutely gorgeous with strawberry blonde hair.

ELLIOT GREY (Christian's adoptive brother)

• And as for Elliot Grey, none other than Kellan Lutz. Come on, the guy's a hunk. Elliot is supposed to be playful, gorgeous and hott with a broad smile. I could totally see Kellan Lutz and Evan Rachel Wood hitting it off. "Later's Baby!"

ETHAN KAVANAGH (Kate's brother)

• Now as for Ethan Kavanagh, it was kinda tough but - hell - he's Kate's brother, he's gotta be hot. LIAM HEMSWORTH! The Hemsworth brothers are gorgeous and I think Liam would be perfect for the role of Ethan.

JOSE RODRIGUEZ (Ana's friend)

• Now, for Jose Rodriguez (I know I should have listed him right after Kate, but say what) I had NO idea which Latino actor to choose but I decided to go with (I wanted to say Taylor Lautner so badly but we can't have him, Kellan and Ashley people will think its a Twilight reunion lol) yes... Steven Strait! I think he could be the typical latino next door.

MIA GREY (Christian's adoptive sister)

• As for Mia Grey, I could totally see Ashley Greene doing the part. I mean she's cute, bubbly, energetic and absolutely sweet which is exactly the way Mia is described. I don't see anyone better for the role.

JASON TAYLOR (Christian's head of security)

• And who could play Jason Taylor other than Mr. Jason Statham himself. He thrives in playing "protector of all" in almost every movie he acts. This just seems fitting, doesn't it?

GAIL JONES (Christian's housekeeper) 

• As for Mrs. Gail Jones, Laura Linney! She seems perfect. She's not too young and not too old.

GRACE TREVELYAN-GREY (Christian's adoptive mother)

• Mrs. Grace Trevelyan-Grey, to me, should be Diane Lane. She is not too old and she has that nice, motherly charm to her.

CARRICK GREY (Christian's adoptive dad)

• Carrick Grey! I've had many options at hand: Richard Gere (who has worked with Diane Lane previously), Mark Hamon (NCIS), Liam Neeson (Taken) and Alec Baldwin. But, I would really have to choose Alec. He just has that "Carrick Grey" look. lol

ELENA ROBINSON (TROLL BITCH)

• Now, for Elena Robinson (Troll Bitch)! Kim Cattrall definitely has the spunk to play crazy, cougar, pedo, domineer don't you think? But she looks a little too old. I think Nicolette Sheridan could be the perfect Elena. Hell, she was known as a sexual predator on Desperate Housewives. She definitely has the look. Who do you think?

LEILA WILLIAMS (Christian's ex-sub))

•  As for Leila Williams, Christian's ex-sub! She is supposed to resemble Ana and I think Mila Kunis would be perfect. Mila and Lucy have a striking resemblance!

CARLA (Ana's mother) 

• Carla (Ana's mother) should be played by Mary Steenburgen!

RAY STEELE (Ana's step-father)

• As for Ray Steele, I'm really liking Liam Neeson seeing that Ray is supposed to be ex-military! Neeson is perfect to play an ex-militant and caring step father, don't you think? Although his 6'4 build will tower over Somerhalder! Sigh, this is a predicament.

BOB (Carla's current husband)

• I can see Dennis Quaid playing Bob, Carla's current husband.

CRACK-WHORE (Christian's Biological mother)

• The Crack-whore who is Christian Grey's biological mother should be played by the ever beautiful Carla Gugino. She's sexy, absolutely gorgeous and she could pull off the crack whore look really well.

LUKE SAWYER (Christian's Security)

• Luke Sawyer (Christian's other trusted security personnel) should be played by James Denton. He is well-known for his gun carrying roles such as Mike Delfino on Desperate Housewives.

SUSANNAH (Christian's other ex-sub)

• Susannah (another ex-sub of Christian who resembles both Ana and Leila) should be played by Phoebe Tonkin. Phoebe, Mila and Lucy all have a similar look, don't you agree?

DR. JOHN FLYNN (Christian's Psychiatrist)

• Dr. John Flynn (Christian's psychiatrist) should definitely be played by Simon Baker. He's perfect, especially after seeing him act on The Mentalist!

MR. RODRIGUEZ (Jose's Dad)

• Mr. Rodriguez (Jose's father) could be played by Cheech Marin, although I haven't really thought much about this character. 

JACK HYDE (Ana's Boss)

• And last, but not least, Jack Hyde! I really wanted to go with "Alaric Saltzman" on this lol, but I ended up choosing Colin Farrel. He has definitely got the Jack Hyde look with the hoop earring and ponytail. What do you think?

Well, that's my dream cast for you. So, who do you think are best suited for these roles. I really wish I could see Lucy and Ian in this movie! Sigh! Well, that's it for now. Thanks for reading. :)

P.S. I don't care who else they cast as long as they cast Ian Somerhalder as Christian Grey. If they don't, well I don't think I'll be in a rush to see this movie because it will be really hard for any other actor to convince me other wise. Ian was all i pictured and nothing can taint that. He is MY Christian Grey. I really hope the tables turn and they cast him.

P.P.S.

This is so ridiculous the length of time they're taking to cast Christian when the perfect man has openly discussed his interest. Everyone is choosing their Christian based on looks alone (Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill) as much as Henry is a turn on, they have to keep in mind the actor's actual ability to portray the role well. Ian already plays Damon which has that whole Mecurial thing going on. How could EL not see that.

WELL FOLKS, THE CASTING HAS BEEN OFFICIAL!

And they chose the most boring, plain faced people ever!!!!!!! Dakota Johnson is so boring looking and she's not even cute. She doesn't begin to carry the Ana vibe. She doesn't even have the big eyes Ana are supposed to have.

Now, this Hunnam fellow (I just had to google his name because i couldn't remember lol) right, Charlie! lol... Charlie Hunnam while he's not bad looking (without the God-awful beard) he is still so plain. There is no facial feature that particularly holds you and make you think this guy is some sort of Greek God! Not even his eyes. CG's eyes are the MOST IMPORTANT facial feature and even if they weren't going with IAN, they still should have found someone with really impressive eyes or at least some sort of impeccable beauty! This is by far a huge disappointment. I really was opting for Henry other than Ian. But hey, ya'll let me know how the movie was because I would NOT be watching. Seems like EL has a blonde fetish, maybe she should have made Ana and CG blonde -_-! F***ing Dyke! LOL JK!

P.P.P.S

Didn't I say the cast would make or break this movie! Sigh! EL get your head out your crack and listen to your fans! You do NOT have to pick a fan favourite but at least get someone at least remotely close to the characters in the book, jeez! If i had the opportunity to make my book BLOOD into a movie I'd sooo make sure I'd get the most suitable looking and talented actors. No offense to Dakota, but she is not anything like Ana is described. Please, please EL find a tall, lean, muscular man with a beautiful face and piercing eyes who can do an emotionally damaged and mercurial role well, and as for Ana, please find someone petite with smaller features and big doe eyes! Thank you. We don't need a fan favs, just actors that look appealing and can act the part well. Yes acting is the main thing, but keep in mind what made these characters so appealing: LOOKS! There was nothing intellectually appealing, it was all physical for me. If Ian wasn't what I had imagined then I'd never make it through the books. I just want to see CG come alive in someone that looks the part and can act the part. Oh how i wish Smolderholder would do it lol! 

Now Charlie has dropped out, it would be their chance to make it right, except they HAVE to get rid of Dakota first. I was more accepting of Charlie, but DAkota - NO! She looks wayyyyyy too old. I know I have mentioned Hollywood Make-up and what not but dude NO! (LOL) She just does not appeal to me in any form or fashion! Please EL listen to the fans, we are the ones that made your books' success a reality! Do us a favour and stop being retarded. 

Don't even get me started on R.Pat - YUCK! WTF EL not Rob, are you insane. I could careless about it being Twilight fanfiction. As far as I'm concerned Christian was appealing because of his physical appearance. Rob is hideous - sorry! But that's my opinion and he is freaking scrawny! He has no sex appeal whatsoever and his shirtless scene in New Moon made me feel to barf! No thanks!

So people, what do you think? 

I realise a lot of people love my choices, if only we could have made it happen like that (hehehe) but sadly not, but what THEY could do is find the appropriate people with the right acting skills and looks for the role. That is all I have to say! Thanks once again for reading!

Oh, by the way, about a week ago i was thinking to myself, what if Hunnam isn't really chosen and it was all a publicity stunt because controversy sells and in the end they choose Ian. Ha! It was a random thought, then I hear Hunnam drops out - weird! But it'd be cool to see Ian. But this movie is looking like its heading down south so I don' know who would wanna fill in the CG suits!
